First Night Mayhem
First night of Mipa camp a girls faints and two studly campers come to her rescue. Brennan Halliday, a Junior at Fenton High School, took a unfriendly tumble in the dinner line on Sunday night while going to dinner.
“I was scared because it never happened before but I had a feeling it
was coming because I had not eaten all day” Halliday said.
It was the first night of camp and everyone was eager to get the free pizza they were providing us with. When Brennan had fallen on the stairs. Nobody knew what was going on. A student in the line got the attention of an advisor that a student was not swaying back and forth and her skin was pale. The advisor picked up the student to bring her into the cafeteria. Right before entering the cafeteria she fell into the arms of Nate Thomas, a Senior at Findlay High School.
“Well hate to state this but my first reaction was that Brennan was playing a trick to cut me in line for dinner. But then I realized what was actually happening and I was in a state of shock.” Nate said.
The advisor instructed him to go get some water while Jimmy Eckhardt, a junior also at Findlay High School and her were trying to position Brennan on the ground in a safe manor. “Oh crap, why me!” was Jimmy’s first initial reaction. The situation was scary and people surrounding did not know what to do.
When Brennan became conscience she did not remember anything that had happened. She said “The boys came up after dinner to ask if I was ok and I simply had to ask them if they were the ones that helped me.” Nate and Jimmy are now able to walk around camp with the title of Hero. They helped a student they had just met recover from a tumble.
