Mike Morelli Interview
Mike Morelli was a contestant on the Biggest Loser Season 7. When he started the show he was 18 years old and weighed 388 pounds. He lived in South Lyon, Michigan with his family. It was Mike’s mothers’ idea for them to get on the show. There were auditions near to their home. Mike and his father Ron waited for six hours in the rain at an audition. It was worth it though because they made it to the next round of auditions.
Mike was planning on attending Michigan State University the year of the Biggest Loser. The Biggest Looser if he made it would conflict with school. Mike had to choose to drop out of college for the year and hope for a spot on the show or forget about the show and go to school. At the time when he dropped out he was not guarantied a spot on the show. Mike chose to drop out of Michigan State and pray for a spot on the show. Mike and his father made it to the show. They were partners on the show and they made up the brown team.
On August third Mike Morelli attended and spoke at a press conference at the MIPA (Michigan Interscholastic Press Association) Workshop. MIPA Workshop student, Abby Kehres, was motivated by Mike Morelli and the show. She said, “He motivated me when watched the show because I was a lot heavier than I am now so I actually lost like 40 pound from watching it.” Morgan Groulx said, “yea I also lost weight in the past too. Basically, his whole family, his dad and his brother were motivated by him, so my mom and I decided to start working out.” In all Mike lost 207 pounds and was the runner up in The Biggest Loser Season 7.
